After a year of developing a new IP, Visceral was instead tasked with creating a new, different, entry in the Battlefield franchise, and I was asked to Creative Direct it.

Given the desire to push the limits of single player, tone, and setting,  we created a world styled like a network police procedural TV show (CSI, NYPD Blue) and the crime novels of Elmore Leonard (Out of Sight, Get Shorty).

Although the game sold well, the challenges of a new engine and new game genre had their effect on final quality, the world was received by critics as the strongest in the series and many innovations we developed formed the backbone of the smash hit Battlefield One that followed it.
